Thank you JKatkin, for telling me I never measure or calculate, being a designer and and artist, working in textiles and interior design and the rag trade most of my working life and being just a few years younger than yourself I have no idea how I managed, must have had magic scissors, and tape measure that did it all for me.
For a short while I jumped off the world and the rat race and had some land, I can cast my eye over fields and quiet accurately tell you how many acres are there. I could not hazard a guess at hectares.
I work in metres and yards quite happily using both, and dont find imperial measurement a problem at all.
So thank you for joining our forum and immediately insulting my intelligence
