Mass Fly-tipping Begins Here! Quote: | Bin taxes arrive... with a£40 charge for families ON TOP of their council tax bill | Quote: Families who put out more than one bin bag each week will have to pay extra under Britain's first pay-as-you-throw scheme. Tens of thousands of households will be charged 28p for every extra sack they leave out. A family using three a week would pay £40 a year on top of their council tax bill Councils around the country will be watching the progress of the scheme in Tory- controlled Broxbourne, Hertfordshire. Many are expected to follow suit. But critics say the scheme - which had a four-month trial last year - is effectively a tax on large families. | Quote: |
Some believe the charges could even be illegal.
| Bin taxes arrive... with a £40 charge for families ON TOP of their council tax bill | the Daily Mail Some think it's illegal? I do for one. How can you be charged twice for the same service? It also openly promotes fly-tipping and who pays to clear that up? We could actually be paying three times for the one service. Another thing: Packaging is NOT OUR FAULT. WE DO NOT ASK FOR IT! Fine the companies that use all this packaging.
