I think we should go back to the age of the vikings. They went traveling in their longboats, powered by the wind and the sweat of the oarsmen.
They used to have several holidays a year. Traveling to England, Ireland, Iceland. Just had to provide food and water for the journey, because we in the Isles would happily provide for their every need. And they usually went back with more than they came with.
All that raping and pillaging, is what us men where meant for. The women of that time used to love it, us men being in charge and taking what we want, when we wanted it.

Just stop the bloody flights, that get cheaper and cheaper.
Problem solved.

The irony is that flights are not the main problem, just an extravagance that is an easy target.
Bovines with less flatulance might prove a better move.
