Default Boycott China for it's Animal Cruelty

There are no laws against animal cruelty in China. The only prohibition is against killing endangered species. Torture is not even an issue. The following articles will give you an idea of the kind of disregard the Chinese authorities have for animal welfare.

Boycott China for Animal Cruelty

This has to go back here. China's attitude to animal welfare is just not acceptable.

I am not getting at you NT, it's just something I feel strongly about, even though I detest Paul McCartney.

I have tried to for years, but is is almost impossible now. We do have a shop in Tod where I now buy my cloths, which fights for a free Tibet, and she goes out to Tibet and helps run an animal rescue programme out there. I Can be 100% certain nothing there will be Chinese.

This is true, she goes about three times a year, and runs it online the rest of the time.
I would still rather buy from her, as the goods Anne comes back with are made in small units in Tibet, not large factories belching out smog in China, so on balance I would say a much smaller carbon footprint than the cut price Chinese tat in the tat in the supermarkets.
I would buy British if I could we do also have one shop selling cloths made locally from alpacas that graze or our lovely Pennine hills, and i do occasionally treat myself to something from there, but it is very pricey.
But the British rag trade was killed in the 80s, when I had to leave it.
