Default Busy bee's....or not????

O.K two choices here, Environment OR Rural matters.

HERE got it.

We have MASSES of REALLY heavy scented roses on our balcony, and around the terrace. We have three Lime trees in FULL flower in the garden, along with two horse chestnut and a couple of cherry trees.

We have had 30°c regularly for three weeks now. The smell of the trees and flowers is like being stoned.

BUT we have not seen ONE bee or wasp!!!

I have not seen 'owt in the press regarding this, EXCEPT for the "failing to return to nest" problem. (But that was LAST year)

So IS there a general European lack of bees/wasps this year, or are we in Berlin imagining it?

I admit to being concerned.

There have been many reports about the loss of bee's in the UK, and throughout the world. Here in the Fens, they are thankfully pretty prolific.

But, what people do not realise is that, if they go, we do.

Maybe they were too scared of Von last year to have bastards.

Hel man.......Im worried about you.
There are shite gobbling turks running amok seducing our women....and all the other things you say ......and you are worried about ........Bees ?

The above is a satire on the fact that little things really do matter.

While us dead heads are working out why our children (Bastards von) are knifing each other, why islamist terrorists are bombing our way of life into the dark ages, why teenage pregnancies are up....and all the other mind numbing worries we have these days...........

When the BEES die out......so do we.

I was talking to a beekeeper and he says that there is a very serious problem. The whole hive collapse thing they have in the US hasn't been happening here. YET. it is not thought to bee a disease or parasite, but they dont have clue what is causing it.
I know the main food source for bees in the US is vey different to the UK.
US has vast areas of GM crops, no one at the time knew the effect this would have on bees. Is this one of them? If it is it will stay a mystery because there are big bucks in GM?
Notice UK has very small amounts of GM and doesn't have this problem.

With the GM Germany is the same as U.K. But we DO have the problem, apparantly, with bees.
