M&S shares dive on gloomy outlook

The boss of Marks and Spencer has warned of "stormy times ahead" for the UK economy - as his firm said a slide in consumer confidence had hit sales.
M&S shares sank by 24.5% after the gloomy comments - with Sir Stuart Rose saying UK woes would be "more of a two-year problem than a two-month one". Like-for-like UK sales dropped 5.3% in the past three months, M&S said.

I think people have just woken up. Personally, I have always thought M&S were very overrated, especially in the food department.

Snob factor wears a bit thin when the debts pile up and the banks want their money back. I have no sympathy for M&S at all, the food isn't very good, and there's never been anythin posh about microwave dinners. They've just played to punters' superficiality and vanity for a few years and now the gravy train has come to an end.
