OK.....next question.

Where are they sourcing the water that requires desalination ? London is many miles from salt water.....(Desalination does mean extracting clean water from salt water....doesn't it ?)

As the link shows.....all they need to do is stop the leaks.

upto teddington is salt at high water?

battersea is fresh water at slack water (low tide?)

Well.....you live and learn....Im surprised at that. It does make some sense, in that the Thames is tidal, meaning it has high and low water.

It still sounds crazy to me though, taking water from a tidal river and purifying it, while you allow so much water to go to waste that you have cleaned already, by poor maintainance of existing pipework.

(Whats with the new sig.....revenge etc.?)

Liking someone and being mistaken about it is something we all do from time to time I guess. Being a big fan of Der Fuhrer and then telling everybody it was a mistake is something that a number of war criminals have been noted saying. RedKen is comparitevely harmless, I like him, but I don't like what he's done to London in the past.

As I understood it the water companys are also responsible for removing/dealing with water drainage. So Of course floods will add to the cost.
