Default The credit crunch???????

"The credit crunch"
Hmppph
How is it affecting all you folks on the forum?
I am of the opinion that, Okay fuel, food and Mortgage prices have risen. For myself, it has only affected me.
slightly, I am sure that if the Media had not hyped it all up out of proportion, then we would not be worrying half so much as we are. Okay, being the age that I am, I don't have any debt, more luck than judgement I have to say, but I really think the power behind the thought of recession is a load of hogwash. Another excuse for the powers to be to force financial constraints on us.
What does anybody think?

Welcome stranger.

Have to say, it hasn't affected me that much, but we both work, and hubby earns a good amount. I have though be stood next to a couple of old ladies in Sainsbury's who were really feeling it. Going through the lamb chops until they found some they could afford. That was hard to watch.

I think it just affects those people who try and borrow their way out of debt lol! There are quite a few of them. I think if you manage your credit carefully, or simply don't use it then you won't feel much. Credit Crunch is just another way for governments to say "recession, but the fault of banks and borrowers, not us". We are technically entering a recession, with inflation outstripping growth, and property prices dropping. Nobody knows when it will end hence the panic.

I think there is a lot in what both Easy and Churchill say...

The most powerful weapon that our government has against us (as they discovered in 2001) is FEAR... And as long as they can keep us fearing something, they can keep getting us to swallow their cr*p...
