Banks Nationalised ?

The Government has said that it will use up to £50 billion of taxpayers’ money to inject cash into UK banks in return for a stake in the banks.

It will get worse before it gets better......if it gets better.

Yes, it will cost each and every one of us over £1000, and we won't get it back. You can bet your bottom dollar however, that the city bosses will still get their outrageous bonuses.

shame the evil witch ever made possible and aggressively pushed for secure mutual building societies to become commercial banks.
A lot of the problem stems from then, if that hadn't happened they could not have invested the way they did, and lost al that money on sub prime.

The bank has pumped over £200bn in total this year amd no end of these hand-outs appear to be on the horizon.

Personally I think they're putting off the inevitible. The banks have been playing pyramid lebding schemes with borrowed money, and the bottom of the pyramid is us, the poor old consumer. Plan for the worst and hope for the best and you won't be dissapointed.

The thing is, as always, all they are doing is treating the symptom... What we need is to identify the cause (I think Poppy is pretty close on the mark IMHO) and address THAT!.

Too late, the fact is they DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, and feel they can't stand by and do nothing, even though sadly, that's probably exactly what should be hapening.

It's fkn chaos out there and none of em know what to do about it.

I think they should let the house of cards fall, and start a whole new system upon the berried bones of the old one.
Cut out the greed,let hoses be worth what they are worth as buildings to live in, not investments.

As I am a bit of financial numpty no nothing,but I think Churchill has come up with what I was thinking.
Its the sitting on the tigers back syndrome, you know you should never got in this situation and you must do something.....but whatever you do may be the wrong thing.....best to just sit it out and let the tiger fall asleep....and hope.
