Confused sent electricity bill... for £90 MILLION

We all know the cost of living is soaring and utility bills are more expensive than ever before.

But when a mother-of-two received a bill for £90 million she thought it was just a little bit steep.

Alison Turner, 50, got the astronomical bill from suppliers Npower.
In order to justify the huge bill the lights would have to be left on for 1900 years.
The barmaid who lives alone in a one-bedroom flat, normally spends about £20 every two weeks to top up her pre-payment electric meter.
But the letter, on Npower headed paper, said: 'We have checked your account and there is a balance to pay of £90,454,217.

'This is because your token meter was undercharging you because our prices have changed since it was last reset.

Tossers, tossers ALL....

This kind of thing goes on only because WE don't kick up enough of a stink when it happens. If everyone made a SERIOUS fuss everytime our bill was wrong the power companies would pretty quickly start getting a really bad name and then they might consider using some of their obscene profits to FIX THEIR BROKEN SYSTEMS...

Yeah, nPower tried it on with me, on the doorstep:
"We're just checking you've had the service charge removed from your bill - Please can you sign here to confirm"

BTW. Never buy ANYTHING on your doorstep - You don't get ANY of the statutory protections you get if you buy in a shop, by phone or even over the internet... Dunno entirely why this is the case, but I know that you put yourself in a much weaker position when trying to get a sale reversed...

Any one comes to my doorstep selling. they get a good bloody roasting and reported to the Arbeitsamt (dole) as potential "working on the side" bastards.

They may not be, probably are not. But itz causes them one HEL of an inconvienience, with MONTHS of been called in to the Arbeitsamt, and the tax office, and the Ordnungsamt, and a hundred other Government departments to prove it. evilwipz
