Default 'Deathly Hallows' split into two films

Warner Bros has confirmed it will split Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the final instalment in the wizard franchise, into two films.

Part I will be released in November 2010 with Part II following in May 2011, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Star Daniel Radcliffe admitted splitting the book into two was the best way to end the series.

"I think it's the only way you can do it, without cutting out a huge portion of the book," he said. "There have been compartmentalized subplots in the other books that have made them easier to cut - although those cuts were still to the horror of some fans - but the seventh book doesn't really have any subplots. It's one driving, pounding story from the word go."

Looking forward to the film now. Loved all the books, but book 3, Prisoner of Azkaban was by far my favorite.

I'm looking forward to watching the film more than the others, I was a bit disappointed with the previous films, but such is life. It will be interesting to see how this one shapes up.

Ever tried one? The books are soooo much better than the films.

The ONLY reason they are making the book in to two films is that they double their money. And NO other reason.

Instead of people paying to go into the pictures once, they have to pay twice.

I have to admit, I think it's a girly thing. I love the films too , they recreate the books so faithfully, both in story and vision. They have to shorten the films (for obvious reasons) and lots of nice little things are left out.

One of my friends (female) can't abide the Harry Potter books, and you couldnt get her to see any of the films. She borrowed one of mine to try it before she ventured off to buy them, and she was so glad she didnt, in her words waste her money!

Actually, neither of my daughters, both avid readers, have picked one up. I stand corrected. I've read them all, have all the films on DVD. Wicked escapism.
