Olympics a success ?

There was talk of China falling flat on its face.
Now the Olympics are over and its countdown to 2012, what did you think of the Chinese effort ?

I thought they were bloody marvelous.

Eat my words. It was bloody fantastic. Watched it 24/7 and will now be bereft!!

Proud to say I stood by my guns. I didn't watch a single second of it.

Granted, not much of a protest. It won't be freeing Tibet any time soon or causing large outbreaks of free-speech in mainland China, but it meant something to me, so I stood by it.

I didn'y watch much more than the highlights because it's not of a great interest to me on a daily basis. However, I was impressed by the efforts of the contenders and they're the most important in my book. I still dread 2012 for many, many, many reasons.
