Was in our local Tesco the other day and I asked the cashier where she came from after hearing her accent. She came from Sheffield. Where we are the houses are relatively cheep and they made the move. My husband was born in Manchester, raised in Macclesfield, and moved to Cambridgeshire over 30 years ago, and has no intension of ever going back.

I went to Manchester last night for a cycle ralleigh, and am so glad I live in the back of beyond... I feel claustrophobic in cities, i can't work my way around them, I have no point of reference, suppose it's like looking at a crowd of chinese people and asking you to pick out Mr Wing, when you have only met him once! it's something that I really struggle with don't know why! Had to move out of centre of town to 2 miles up road in middle of no where cos I couldn't cope with looking out of window and not seeing Green Hills etc. |

I'm a city girl that now lives in the sticks, and I would not swap it.

Hastings? You cannot judge the rest of the South by hastings. I'm a Londoner, born in the Capitol and proud of it.
