No no Britain seen as corrupt since BAE decision

The news comes ahead of a key report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development on the UK's anti-corruption record next month.
The Law Commission is also due to make recommendations on a new anti-corruption law in November. A global Corruption Perception Index 2008, published by campaigning group Transparency International, shows a significant worsening of the way the UK's attitude to corruption is seen by the rest of the world.
The index ranks 180 developed countries in terms of the degree to which corruption is perceived to exist among public officials and politicians.
According to the index, the UK has slipped from 12th to 16th in the table, with the UK's "CPI rating" falling from 8.4 out of 10 last year to 7.7, the biggest drop in Britain's score since the index started in 1995.
The group said the big fall was due to a combination of factors including the collapsed Serious Fraud Office investigation into multi-billion pound arms contracts nearly two years ago.

Yes. I am not surprised. We are now under the thumb of the Saudi's. I would not care what the stakes were not to have given in to them, there are some principals one must live by.

I agree but there is no money in principles.

Have been since the 80's. Wasn't Mark Thatcher caught up in some dodgy dealings with the Saudis?

Oh yes, there's always his 'topple an African government' hobby gone wrong.

not really, only arms dealing, trying to overthrow a government, hiring mercenary soldiers, so nothing very much.
