Petition to reduce alcohol purchase age to 16

A petition on the governments petition site is requesting that the legal age for purchasing alcohol be reduced to 16. If you search the petitions by size it is number 8. In the middle of a "Government" clamp down on alcohol, to please their muslim friends, and the news papers full of demands to stop teenage drinking, and this shower of loosers choose NOW to request a LOWERING of the legal age???

Just been looking at legal ages throughot the world, and came accross this gem;

In Iceland and Sweden purchasers or possessors of alcoholic beverages must be 20, although they can be drunk from 18.

It must have been created by some hacked off teenagers. I like the idea of being able to drink it from the age of 18 but pruchase at 20. Student unions would be stuffed! I was always able to get hold of alcohol when I was younger (sorry Mum!) and we were often in the pub during 6th form, though we never felt the need to go around attacking people and property. However, just the other day I was asked for ID while buying some beer. I was quite flattered as I am now 25! The biggest problem is the culture of drinking in Britain. How we go about fixing that I don't know.

Some shops have a rule that they ask everyone so no one feels picked upon, being in my 60 I find this quite fun
