| Some 30,000 people celebrated the summer solstice as dawn broke at Stonehenge in Wiltshire. Druids, hippies and sun-worshippers were among those who gathered to watch the sun rise at the ancient stone circle at 0458 BST on the longest day. Rainy conditions obscured the sunrise but the turnout was still the highest in five years. Police said the event was peaceful, with 15 arrests overnight for public order offences. As the dawn broke a cheer went up from revellers who gathered at the Heel stone - a pillar at the edge of the prehistoric monument. BBC NEWS | England | Wiltshire | Thousands mark summer solstice My mate Mel will be there. From here on in, the nights get shorter.

Isn't it on a ley line? I read somewhere that churches are all built on ley lines because they were erected over old pagan sacred sites, so as to keep the punters interested.

Yes the henge sits on the longest ley line in Britain, and yes again all the Christian festivals mirror the pagan ones and many churches were built over pagan sites. Though most are just very close.

Any church that has an "ancient" curvilinear grave yard (Circular or oval), is built ON the site. But that does not ALWAYS work as a rule because Wesminster Abbey is directly on an old Keltik site, the graves are still there in the cellars, but it does not have a circular graveyard.
