Well, good for him. I have never however, been in favour of it, not because of who he is so much, but more because of the danger he puts his fellow soldiers in.

totally agree with you, but have to admire him for doing it, wonder if he will be brought home now he yanks have made it public knowledge

I have to give it to the guy. He done what he wanted to do. Going through all his training and then to be told "sorry son,you can't go"
I remember in the late sixties, I joined up in the Army, done me training as a light infantryman and thinking "when am I gonna get my chance" Three months later after Northern Ireland flared up, I was posted of to Paddy Land for a three months tour. The first of three tours. After the first tour, I had the enthusiasm knocked out of me.
Saw some lads die, by way of snipers. Also, knee capping by those B******S P.I.R.A. There where times that we went out and did what was known at the time "Paddy Bashing" I even today, feel some shame, because the violence metered out to some of the folks was over the top, and to boot, a lot of innocent people.
The problem was, that that was the only way that we had of venting the frustration we where feeling against the P.I.R.A. We where just so restricted as to what we could do in retaliation.
Anyway, I digress. Good luck to the lad, and I hope he finds what he was seeking when he first joined the Guards. Though I very much doubt it.

As I write, Harry's return is being splashed on all channels. "LIVE FROM BRIZE NORTON"
Jeez, I just don't get all this media coverage. Do the press REALLY think that three quarters of the population actually give a stuff about his return?
This will not go down well with all the horrifically injured ordinary Squaddies and their families, who have been treated abysmally by the MOD and this totally inept and uncaring government.
Once again, this Labour Government sickens me beyond wordssk1
