His ability to dodge a jail sentence has at times appeared almost uncanny.

But today the long arm of the law finally caught up with rocker Pete Doherty as he was sent to prison for 14 weeks.

In a move which many will believe is long overdue, a judge sitting at West London Magistrates Court ruled that Kate Moss's former beau had flouted his bail conditions once too often.
