Cigarettes To Be Sold Under The Counter
Shopkeepers could be forced to sell cigarettes under the counter and vending machines in pubs could soon be banned if new Government proposals get the go-ahead.
The plans are all part of a Department of Health attempt to cut the number of smokers and put children off taking up the habit.
In return, it will be made easier to sell nicotine replacement gums and patches.
The proposals follow on from the introduction of the smoking ban in public places last July.
