Lightbulb 'Men face memory loss earlier than women'

Men have a greater chance than women of suffering from memory problems in old age, according to research.
Scientists found that they are at least one and a half times more likely to have problems with memory and thinking skills when they reach 70 and beyond.
Men do not, on average, live as long as women and the new work shows that this is reflected in their mental decline too, which too happens earlier.
When it comes to remembering things, men are more likely than women to become dotty and forgetful in old age, according to a study presented to the American Academy of Neurology, Chicago.

My husband is starting to forget everything I tell him. Do you think I should start worrying?

I made a point of telling him the other day that the sweetners are in the cupboard as the kittens have started jumping on the kitchen counters. Something to be stopped, but yesterday he asked "where's the bloody sweetners, I've looked everywhere"?

Stuff like that is happening all the time.

I doubt it......

Men should listen intently to their women's every word, and react accordingly.
In practice most just go into automatic mode, nodding or shaking their heads or making appropriate noises at the right time. This skill is vastly under rated, grunting or nodding inappropriately can be dangerous.
A wrongly placed "Yes dear" can result in repercussions, the real skill is convincing the lady you were agreeing to an earlier comment that you were still mulling over.
Women are known to speak much more than men, so appearing interested and retaining the kernal of the conversation for later, when questions may be asked, sometimes goes wrong.
It is very difficult for men to understand the importance of verbal communication to their women, so picking up on key words, and filing them away for later normally does the trick.
When asked just fire back single words, "Bus Stop " or " Mabel" will suffice most times when cornered.

My ex came home one day, after visiting the doctors and said.
" the doctor told me I have lost my mind" I said "I'm not surprised, you've been giving me a piece of it, every day for the last 25 years"

I find it extremely difficult to have a conversation, just for the sake of it. At the moment my G/F and I live apart, we speak on the phone every night, she will tell me in minute detail what she has done from the moment she gets up till the present time. I am fine at face to face conversation, but I just can't handle it on the phone.

Hmmm saw this thread yesterday and forgot about it.

What was the question again....Sweat....something vegetable like..round....green....sort of....whatever your name is?

I can remember facts and dates in history from the year 0 till 1945. I can remember how to use sonar. I can remember Lee Enfield rifle drill. I can remember the colour and pattern of the wall paper in my Grannies bedroom when I was 6 months old.

Ask me what I had for breakfast yesterday, and fuck it. Not a SINGLE clue.
