Rabies puppy confirmed in British quarantine, bites three people

A case of rabies has been confirmed in a puppy in quarantine in Britain, Defra said today.


Three humans are understood to have been bitten by the animal and are being treated for exposure to rabies, a Health Protection Agency official said.
Defra insisted the UK remained "free of rabies" because the case had occurred in quarantine.

Incidentally Sweets, did you see where the quarantine unit was? Chingford Essex. Someone ought to tell them we in Chingford ain't in essex. Also very interesting is, my G/F is a veterinary assistant. I wondered why she was gnashing her teeth and growling last night, also she nearly bit my head off when I put water in her gin.

well where is Chingford then? is it in Kent?

why on earth do we have to import dogs from the far east, when plenty arr being put to sleep cause nobody wants them?

Well, there's more there, and people feel sorry for them. That's my guess.

You would want to bring your own dog with you.....thats what quarantine is all about...and it worked.

And Tel there aren't many native UK dogs.....anymore.
