I think you just subscribed to the culture with that comment, their late Aunt and Grandmama liked a tipple too apparently.

Ahhh, Margaret, a drunk yes. But not spewing in gutters. The occasional mishap abroad, yes, but if it were not for the ever imposing British press, no one would have know.

So, you are comparing Princess Margaret to the average Chav? When was the last time she jumped on cars, nicked a car, joyrode and wrote off someone's livelihood, stabbed someone, fought outside a nightclub, stoned firemen, stoned police etc, etc

One thing she did have in common however, was that she was a parasite, although even she had been know to work for her keep.

Quote:
Chav (pronounced /ʧæv/, with 'ch' as in chair) also Charv/Charver (pronounced /ʧɑːv/) are mainly derogatory slang terms in the United Kingdom for a stereotype fixated on low quality or counterfeit goods. It commonly refers to those belonging to a youth sub-culture, often stereotypically associated with a low socio-economic class, a striking dress sense and criminal activity.

Chavs speak chockney (neither cockney nor anything else but a sort of hybrid language of text speak and afro-american/west indian and cockney).

William and Harry are posh. When they vomit, the content of their guts cost more than a new small car.

I thought this thread was about the drinking culture ?

So yes I am comparing Merry Maggie with everybody else in the British drinking culture, that includes chavs and hooray Henrys.

Seen the same sort of thing happen here. There's an estate up our lane and the front gardens just have lawns with no fences. In the summer the chavvy parents (you know the sort who don't need to work because you and I pay enough in tax to fund their benefits) sit on the said lawns and drink themselves into a stupour whilst their toddlers toddle out into the road and then if motorists honk at them they get a mouthful of abuse and two finger salutes from the parents.
