Angry Children taken from drunk parents

A UK couple on holiday in Portugal had their young children temporarily taken into protective custody after they collapsed drunk, officials have said.
Staff at the Aparthotel Mourabel, in Vilamoura on the Algarve called police after they passed out on Friday night.
The children aged one, two and six were taken to a children's home in Faro while their parents were treated at a health centre in Loule.
The couple did not comment, but the home's director called it "shocking". Dr Luis Villas-Boas said: "It is the first time it has happened in my 22 years working at this home.

"It's normal for a couple for one to drink while the other doesn't drink. The problem here is they were both passed out. "It was extreme neglect and abandonment. I hope somebody carries this information to the UK so these parents can at least be seen because these children are indeed at risk."

The problem here is, you can bet this happens all the time at home. Bloody disgraceful.

says a lot for parenting UK style, I see it here myself. A couple who are regularly seen drunk on he canal bank with small children ( toddlers), they have been looked at by the child safety lot, who say " they are well fed and cared for and the parents love them" so that is OK, when they fall in the canal and drown they will have been well fed and cared for

If they are well fed they will float better.

But that surprises me....or maybe it shouldn't???

Town police clauses act 1847, Children and young persons act 1921(?), and the Licensing act (ALL), makes it an offence to be "drunk in charge of a child". ALSO "Drunk in charge of a pushchair or pram".

Pretty easy nab for Mr Plod. Surprised they have not thought of it. (or maybe it shouldn't???)

Well they had both, just saw them again a couple of hours ago filling the wire basket tray thing under one of the buggies with bottles of plonk.
A lot of things that are not allowed by law, are the norm here. We have no real police presence.
We have a few plastics one community beat bobby who I have seen once and only in the day time well away from trouble spots
After dark nothing.
Tony Tiger will say the same I am sure

Booze is a pretty major problem in the UK these days, and the evidence is shown in British behaviour abroad, on planes etc. Lets face it, whatever happened to Madeline McCann was related to booze as her parents were far too busy getting pissed to look after her and her toddler siblings.

It's really more down to less intelligent in my view. All the chavs that go to all the same places. Oooh, I'm off the Magalluf or Torremolinos. They having the first clue about the rest of the world, just have to go there because the neighbours did. It's keeping the street cred up that gets them there. So what you see is a concentration of the worst of our gene pool. Suggest to them they go hill walking in Spain rather than pissing it up in the same old shit holes and they will think you are barmy.

So called football 'fans' come from the same stock for the most part.

I wouldn't disagree with Sweetpea, but it goes deeper than that.
The drinking culture permeats our way of life, hooray Henrys right down the line to sink estate morons. Wills and Harry at the top right down to Poppy's example.
