Scotland to raise drink-buying age

It was a piece of piss buying alcohol when I was a teenager, and I was one of the ones who looked about 9 at the age of 16, didn't stop me going to the pub though.

When I was 12, I looked 17/18. When I was 20 odd, I looked 16. Was a real pain.

Sad thing is, when you're asked whther you're old enough to buy a pack of fags or booze, you don't see the compliment at the time. By the time you WANT someone to ask you if you're old enough the bastards don't do it anymore.

Most of them round here sell booze 24 hours a day. You can go in anytime 12, 3, 4am, and buy whatever, no questions asked. I find it strange that the rozzers don't do anything about it.

Like what?

Spend three or four hours on paper work every day for a week. Only to have it go to court and the magistrate give the little bastard a slap on the rist?
