The United States was under fire today from the U.N. nuclear watchdog for withholding evidence that Syria had built a nuclear reactor with North Korean help.
The International Atomic Energy Agency criticised the U.S. for withholding its intelligence for seven months after the site was bombed by Israel. IAEA director Mohamed ElBaradei said he "deplored" the delay.
Secret work by North Korea on the al-Kibar reactor was described by the U.S. as "a dangerous and potentially destabilising development for the world".
Apparently damning photographs of the plant were released as the White House said the collaboration on the facility raised doubts about North Korea's intention to go through with its promise to disclose of its own nuclear activities.
U.S. politicians were given details about the reactor in a series of Washington briefings that included video and photographs showing a strong resemblance between specific features of the al-Kibar plant and one near Yongbyon in North Korea.
The White House said the destroyed facility was not intended for "peaceful purposes" – even though U.S. intelligence officials admitted the plant had no reprocessing facility, which would be needed to enrich nuclear material for use in a bomb. North Korea's nuclear assistance to Syria was a "dangerous manifestation" of Pyongyang's nuclear weapons programme and its proliferation activities, the White House said.

Weird to see this crap hit the fan yesterday. I have actually known about it for two weeks, maybe I could have made a killing.
My husband has been in Israel for the past three weeks working for the military.
