RSS, or Rich Site Summary, is an XML format devised by Netscape (Long before FF came along). It was originally intended for websites to provide a taster of the headlines, key items, newest postings, or current sale specials (Depending on site type), for inclusion into another site (Like the old Yahoo home page, or the new iGoogle page) or into a specialist application (Known as a Feed Reader). The originial specification dictated that there could be no more than 15 items in an RSS, though unfortunately this rule has long since perished.

The idea has been expanded upon and there are now RSS generators for virtually all website systems, and RSS readers for virtually every type of web portal, and for every know (and most unknown) operating systems.

By the way.......I have just discovered I can edit the tags....oh dear me....explains a lot.

It wasnt going to be on a forum, think they defeat the object, It was just for news from a specific organisation on a specific site, to show on a page on another site. But I dont to complicated so dont think I will bother
