Another alternative might be an external USB harddrive. This adds the option of using it as a backup device once the files are transferred.

Trust me BACK UP YOUR PCs - My wife lost a hard disk to a harddisk crash and getting the data back cost over 1200 pounds - The laptop was only 499 new!!!

Terry's idea of using a standard ethernet cable into a spare port on your router is fine, so long as you have a router, and so long as it has more than one port...

Terry has lots of good ideas.....except I dont have a router.

I shall go with the home made crossover cable......if I can find it.

Yes.....you dont cross the 'pins'....you cut into the cable midway and crossover the wires.(Watched a video online)

Anyway.....dont know why I bother.....fuffing teenagers.

USB Drives are not so handy if you are running Windoze Vasta... (The bigger badder OS, on valium)

It doesn't recognise most types of external USB storage if it's more than a few minutes old.
