Na, the drive physically failed, the data had to be forensically retreived. Not a cheap process. Even a quote costs about £300...

And remember to back up 30Gb of data you need 30Gb of unused storage to put it... You got a spare 30Gb hard disk you can just use once and then put on the shelf?

Not a problem for me any more... I've got 1Tb of disk on my new PC, and 500Gb in a single external backup disk, on top of my servers and other PCs...

Now I have plenty of backup room

I have 250G on both Laptop and PC, plus a 130G external hard drive, so I'm not badly off for space either.
