It's called 'Chrome', cant download it at the moment cuz of the demands on Google's server apparently. Anyone tried it?

It's very impressive, in an understated kind of way. Some of the underlying technology COULD make web-browsing much safer (and generally better).

It's very clear about sites which are claiming to be something they aren't (In this case it was a site with the wrong SSL certificate), so that's a thumbs up, but it doesn't appear to support RSS feeds as bookmark menus (Like firefox does) which is a shame as I use that quite a lot.

On the whole, Ok, if you REALLY have a philosophical problem with running FireFox. If you just want a good browser that isn't IE (Ok, any browser that isn't IE is likely to be an improvement, but you see my point), then I'd be inclined to run FireFox (in fact I do).

I loath Forefox as you know, and prefer IE. Graphics on FF look shite, no email visable, which is a must for me. Broswer/email together as in MSN and *cough* AOL is a must.

Google launches internet browser

Google is launching an open source web browser to compete with Internet Explorer and Firefox.
The browser is designed to be fast, and to cope with the next generation of web applications that rely on graphics and multimedia.
Called Chrome, it will launch as a beta for Windows machines in 100 countries, with Mac and Linux versions to come. "We realised... we needed to completely rethink the browser," said Google's Sundar Pichai in a blog post.

Shame they didn't completely rethink it, but only design a new browser on an old safari webkit - One which already has published security holes!!

Im using it now.....

I shall give it a try for a while, it will take a bit of getting used to.
