I am thinking of getting a shoutbox put in, to try to put a stop all the tit-for-tat boy banter which is ruining threads.

If however, it stops posts, it will come out again.

How will it work SP? Is it a sin bin?

No. It is just you can say things like "Morning Churchill you bollock head", and go away again.

I have an INKLING that Sweetpea is right, in that it stops posts. But I can not put my finger on it.

Is there any previous evidence?

Na. O.K.

A shout box is something that goes at the end, or beginning of the main page (home).

Basically you have a set amount of words you can use to say.... na whatever..."Good morning"...."My Giraffe has combusted"...."I got my ferret pregnant"....whatever. Just plain silliness.

The idea being that the silliness is left on the shout box, and the "serious" stuff gets done on the actual posts.

THAT is my understanding of it...CUE SWEETPEA, FOLLOWED BY THE EVER DELECTIBLE, THE DELIGHTABLE, THE BUBBLING.... POPPY......

(Which is really an example of a "shout box" message, thinking about it.)

Sounds like a good idea.

It must be a fine line between stupid messages and taking posts from the boards.

It CAN be a balancing act. REMEMBER we have Bruv, who as a matter of PRINCIPAL will argue black is pink.

THAT does NOT work on a "shout box".

I fact REALLY it would be PERFECT for Tel!!!
