I'd never heard of the co. before this week,  it looks like they do an amish range ?

However I ain't sure they have much in the way of telephone or internet to place orders ?

So, what happened? Where are all the others and why did they bugger off?

I think a number of things happened.

TB has never been hugely high traffic. There were some personality conflicts which resulted in a few members disappearing. Some people objected to the banner-exchange ads I used as an attempt to draw in more eyeballs. I don't think the general political discussion (and some of the opinions held) have been met with equally open minds by all viewers but I think the worst thing is probably farcebork... We are not, after all, really a niche site, but rather general conversation site, and people mistakenly think that the mind control machine over at farcebork is actually for that...

Its sad really. Too many people think that life is all in virtual world of facebokk and games. The thing is that the tech like this site can bring people together that have different oppinions and can sometimes be educated and find an alternative view. The world is in upheaval yet people are more worried about how many "pals" they have on FB than what is actually happening around them. We can and have had laughs and digs at each other, though some may have gotten out of hand.
All comments above are nothing to do with here and therefore not the resposibility of the Talk Britain, site owners, admins or mods!!

THEY ARE MINE!!!!

Can't see facebook having any affect on this site, don't think any personalities clashed enough to cause anyone to stay away either, I genuinely believe we all had our fill and moved on.
If and when a half decent topic crops up and I can be arsed, I shall spend more time here.
I do visit every day, then sod off again.
Of course more active members might help to stimulate things, but that's catch 22

Well tis a shame because all you lot are witty and witched on and could set the world right in an afternoon.
Hmm.. you know, 11 years ago the net was thriving with chat rooms and forums took second place ... then it swapped around and now neither have appeal as much.
The times we had, so I suppose it's been and gone really, that wonderful era of forums.
YOu might say that DS and Urban say otherwise but they are massive faceless behemoths and shite compared to the 100-200 strong membership sites.
We need to mount a concerted invasion on DS. There always used to be forum wars years back, bloody great fun!

In my view  forum needs a common interest to tie it together be it postage stamps, a computer or car type, job or location.
The interest in the Datsun sunny, penny black or Scunthorpe leads to the general chitchat, whilst TB is such a chat all these no Datsun best replacement clutch topics to verve off topic to make another thread?

That's my crackpot theory....
