Forum Rules

Registration to TalkBritain is free and means that you accept the forum rules. This is a private computer system, the administrators and owners retain the right to refuse access to whom so ever they wish, without having any duty or requirement to give cause. We will, however, attempt to explain our reasons when we can.

The use of FREE email addresses will is frowned upon on registration and membership may be refused if one is used.

We reserve the right to alter, amend or remove user posts or other material that fails to conform to the theme or safety of the site, or be of an offensive or illegal nature.

Although the volunteer Forum Staff will do all they can to monitor content of posts, it is impossible to assess all posts and we must  rely on users to report suspect content, that may have been missed.

All messages express the view of the author and the owners of this website are not responsible for the content of any messages posted or material shown.

Accounts

Only one account per person is permissible. Registering more than one account could result in the loss of all accounts. Creating secondary accounts or having people you know create accounts is also against forum rules.

IP Changing Software

Software that shows you as using a different IP to your real one is not permissible, neither is using software that alters or masks your IP.

Abusing Other Members

Abusing other members of this website is not permissible.  Debates are welcome but must not become personal or target particular members.  Name calling is not permissible.

Insulting & Nasty Posts

Posts that are insulting or malicious will not be tolerated on this website.

Copyrighted Material

Posting copyrighted material is not permissible. By doing so you run the risk of legal action from the owner of such material.

Advertising & Spam

Advertising a website, product or service is not permitted, unless permission has been given by Forum Staff.

Arguments & Disagreements

If you are aggrieved by a post or maybe the content of that post is incorrect, please do not begin  arguing on the forum.  Instead, please send a Private Message or E-mail to the user and speak to them directly and in private.

You may not question the Forum Staff’s actions within the forums but communicate via Private Message or E-mail.

The Forum Staff have the final say in all actions that may be taken, and are answerable to no one.

Private Messages

Are private and may not be recreated on the open forum without the EXPRESS permission of the owner (recipient) of that Private Message.
Mass (or otherwise) Private Messaging, which contains malicious content will be viewed as spam.

Malicious Content

You must be aware at all times that malware can be attached to pictures, smiles etc, and refrain from posting if you suspect such.

Swearing, Explicit Material etc

Swearing and explicit material  are permissible in some cases on this website, in context and preferably in the over 18’s or Rant Shack.

Images

We permit you to post images on the site, but we insist that that are legal under British law, and do not depict any of the following:

• Pornography or any sort
• Depictions of death
• Physical violence or the aftermath thereof
• Other images reasonably likely to cause distress

  On topic

Posts made must be in the correct forums.  Specific forums are available for users to post off topic posts so please use them. Threads must remain on topic at all times.

Clear English Posts

Any messages posted on this forum must be done so in clear English.  Text Speak or "txt spk" is not acceptable.  Foreign language must be explained.

Account Removal & Banned Accounts

If a user wishes to leave this discussion forum,  they may not have their posts removed also, as this  can cause threads to become confusing.  We will only remove these posts if they cause a serious problem to another person, user or this website.

Banned users accounts will not be removed and their information will remain on this website so attempts to limit them from registering again can hopefully be thwarted, or used if the need for further action should arise.
