The ash never bothered us either, even though the airports were eerie, I have on good authority.

Not a even a dusting on our Passat or Saab.

My Prius got VERY dusty.... But Heathrow being closed was a very special treat for everyone - The air stopped smelling of aviation fuel for a few days!

This was all VERY strange. Although the "News" kept telling us Berlin Frankfurt, Hamburg, etc were closed, we had the NORMAL amount of flights over here every day, at ALL heights.

So SOMEONE was flying the bullshit kite.

Cant be worse than the reek I get. So the reason for everyone in that neck of the woods being the way they are is getting high on aviation fuel. At least the fuel bill for airlines will be lower this fiscal year.
